A man in his 20s who was injured in a crash in Co Meath last night has died in hospital, gardaí said.

A man in his 20s who was injured in a crash in Co Meath last night has died in hospital, gardaí said.

The man was one of four people hospitalised following the two-vehicle collision on the N2 between Slane and Collon.

The crash occurred at around 12.10am at Glasallen, Collon, three miles north of Slane.

Two males in their 20s travelling in one car were seriously injured and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where one male was later pronounced dead. The other male is in a serious condition in hospital.

A male and female from the second car were also taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but their condition is described as non life threatening.

The road is still closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
