A jury will this morning resume its deliberations in the case of a female garda accused of assaulting a man during an arrest in Waterford city last year.

Sergeant Martha McEnery denies a charge of assault causing harm to Anthony Holness at New Street in Waterford on January 29, 2010.

On Friday, the jury at Waterford Circuit Criminal Court convicted another garda of assault causing harm to Mr Holness.

They acquitted a third officer of the same charge.

However they convicted a fourth member of the force of attempting to pervert the course of justice by tampering with CCTV.
