A derelict building was set on fire on the grounds of the home of former Anglo Irish Bank boss Sean FitzPatrick tonight.

Gardaí say they were alerted shortly before 9pm that the flat-roofed building was alight at the property in Greystones.

It is not known if it was set on fire deliberately.

Mr FitzPatrick resigned as head of the bank in December 2008 when details of secret loans with the bank were revealed.

He was declared bankrupt by the High Court in July last year.
