Influential full-forward Colin Corkery is set to miss Saturday night's National Football League opener against Kerry at Pairc Ui Rinn.

Corkery, 31, is still involved in the All-Ireland club championship with Nemo Rangers and has suggested he won't play against Kerry.

He said: "It's a game that I would not like to miss, but the bigger picture for me is the match with the club against Errigal Ciaran on February 23."

Meanwhile, Alan Browne is the new Cork hurling captain.
