Jade Goody has started a gruelling exercise regime to shed her 'kebab belly'.

The Big Brother star put on a stone during her time in the house.

She says there wasn't much to do in the house apart from sit around and eat.

Jade told The Sun: "At the end of Big Brother I couldn't fit into any of the clothes I had taken into the house with me 10 weeks before.

"The only thing I could get on was my trackie bottoms and bikinis with my belly hanging out over them. I was mortified."

Jade said she did not talk about her belly in the house because of the possible impact on teenage viewers.

She added: "I knew there would be lots of teenage girls watching and I didn't want them getting the idea they should be going on a diet too - anorexia is a terrible illness.

"That's why I used to get annoyed with Kate when she used to go on about being fat when she is really skinny."

Jade started her fitness regime at the Oasis gym at Marlow in Buckinghamshire.

Her fitness instructor Jamie Stone said: "She isn't fat at all. She just needs to lose a few pounds and tone up a bit. If she did a decent hour-long work out three times a week she would see good results within four weeks."
