One in eight seeking drug treatment are children

A new Government report has shown that one in eight people who sought drug treatment between 1996 and 1999 were still in school.

A new Government report has shown that one in eight people who sought drug treatment between 1996 and 1999 were still in school.

The report has sent shock waves through the country over the fact that such a large amount of children are seeking treatment for drug problems.

It was also estimated in the report that those in treatment had on average begun taking drugs at the age of 15.

The National Drug Treatment Reporting System also revealed that the average age for those who started to take ecstasy was 17.
