Raiders hit bank in Portarlington

A search is underway in Co Laois today for two raiders who made-off with cash, foreign exchange and travellers cheques from a bank in Portarlington.

A search is underway in Co Laois today for two raiders who made-off with cash, foreign exchange and travellers cheques from a bank in Portarlington.

Gardai say the raiders, armed with hammers, entered the bank around opening time this morning.

The man have been described as in their 20s.

It is not known how they made their escape.
