Luid Moreno was playing for Deportivo Pereira away against Atletico Junior when he saw the bird - which is his opposing team's mascot - on the football pitch.

He gave the creature a swift kick "to see if it could fly" - but injured it so badly it later died of shock.

The athelete's antics have enraged Atletico Junior fans so much some have threatened to kill him - so he is currently staying out of the public eye.
