Louis Oosthuizen maintained his wonderful recent run by claiming the outright lead in Stockholm this morning.
Golf’s new Open champion, out in front from the second round onwards at St Andrews last week, birdied two of his first three holes after resuming as one of three overnight pacesetters at the Nordea Scandinavian Masters.
A two on the short 11th and then a four at the long 12th lifted the 27-year-old South African to seven-under-par and two in front of Korean KJ Choi and Australian left-hander Richard Green.
Going in the opposite direction early on, though, was American Dustin Johnson, who like Green matched Oosthuizen’s 67 yesterday, but set off again with back-to-back bogeys.
Johnson is the player who led the US Open by three with a round to go at Pebble Beach last month, but let in the North’s Graeme McDowell for his first Major title by crashing to an 11 over-par-82.
