Man survives nine days in cargo container

A Bangladeshi port worker survived nine days trapped without food or water in a cargo container shipped to Singapore. Another man trapped with him died.

A Bangladeshi port worker survived nine days trapped without food or water in a cargo container shipped to Singapore. Another man trapped with him died.

Din Islam, 30, said he became trapped while resting in the container at Bangladesh’s Chittagong port on April 1.

Police said Mr Din and the other man’s body were discovered on Sunday by a worker at Pasir Panjong Terminal who heard loud banging in the container.

Mr Din was treated in hospital for dehydration.
