Polish man assaulted in Cork dies in hospital

A Polish man who was assaulted over the weekend in Cork has died.

A Polish man who was assaulted over the weekend in Cork has died.

Ariel Cegidlka was attacked on Oliver Plunkett Street in Cork city on Saturday.

He died at Cork University Hospital this evening.

Earlier today, 28-year-old Connie Horgan with an address care of St Vincent's Hostel in Cork city was charged with assault causing harm to Mr Cegidlka.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court again next Monday.
