Minister for Energy Eamon Ryan is to address a conference aimed at helping homeowners cut their bills and protect the environment.

Organised by EASCA, the Environmental and Sustainable Construction Association, the event will examine options for insulation, heat and power systems.

The conference comes after the minister unveiled draft proposals for new building regulations aimed at making homes more eco-friendly.

The day-long forum in Dublin’s Cultivate Centre will bring together design professionals, homeowners and self-builders to explore building materials, sustainable construction, energy systems and methods for retrofitting and building energy efficient homes.

The event will see experts in the field of ’green building’ demonstrate new products, materials and building technologies and examine options for improving the energy performance of homes.
