59 breaches of consumer legislation over six-month period last year

Fifty-nine enforcement actions were taken against traders for breaches of consumer legislation over a six-month period from August 2010 to January 2011.

Fifty-nine enforcement actions were taken against traders for breaches of consumer legislation over a six-month period from August 2010 to January 2011.

The National Consumer Agency has today published its latest Consumer Protection List.

The majority of breaches were detected in the grocery sector and the remainder were across four other sectors, garage shops, electronics, hairdressing and motor accessories.

All breaches related to misleading pricing or the failure to display prices.
