Man due in court over nun's murder

A 19-year-old man is due to appear before Carrickmacross District Court later this evening charged in connection with the killing of Sr Philomena Lyons.

A 19-year-old man is due to appear before Carrickmacross District Court later this evening charged in connection with the killing of Sr Philomena Lyons.

The nun’s body was found in Ballybay, Co Monaghan on Saturday.

The teenager, who lives just outside Ballybay, has been held at Monaghan garda station since he was arrested this morning.
