The Icelandic president has invited tourists to his house for pancakes and fresh vegetables.

Olafur Ragnar Grimsson made the gesture - which is part of an 'Inspired by Iceland' campaign to encourage others to invite tourists to their homes to see a traditional way of life - via a video statement, in which he invited guests to his Bessastaoir presidential residence.

Visitors will be treated to pancakes with sugar and cream, while his health-conscious wife Dorrit Moussaieff is set to offer fresh vegetables grown in their own greenhouse.
