The dole will no longer be paid directly into recipient's bank accounts, as part of a new Government clampdown on welfare fraud.

The dole will no longer be paid directly into recipient's bank accounts, as part of a new Government clampdown on welfare fraud.

An investigation by the Department of Social and Family Affairs found that almost 10% of people on the live register were claiming benefits while living outside the country.

People currently have to sign on once a month at their local welfare office to have the dole paid into their bank accounts, but they will now have to collect payments at the post office every week.
