Sectarian violence doing 'untold damage'

Northern economic minister Reg Empey has warned that ongoing sectarian street violence in Belfast is damaging tourism and investment.

Northern economic minister Reg Empey has warned that ongoing sectarian street violence in Belfast is damaging tourism and investment.

Mr Empey, a member of the Ulster Unionist Party, said: "Images of recent street violence are doing untold damage to our efforts to build tourism and business investment.

"Our efforts will be frustrated if we fail to alter the images of Northern Ireland that are being beamed around the world on a regular basis."

He was speaking at the launch of a corporate plan for the North.
