And, as one film festival closes, another one opens - or two to be exact!
Next month sees both the 48th Cork Film Festival and 4th Kerry Film Festival (age isn’t everything) take centre screen.
The Cork Film Festival runs from October 12 to 19 with Kerry picking up the celluloid baton the following day. Its festival runs from October 20 to 26.
Cowboys and Angels, Mystics and Song For Raggy Boy are among the Irish films being screened in Cork, and there’ll be ample opportunity for star-spotting with Aidan Quinn and John Hurt (receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award) expected in town.
Kerry will highlight this country’s excellence in short film making with a packed programme of screenings culminating in an awards ceremony.
And the rumour mill has it that jury member Neil Jordan may be in attendance.
