MMA fighter suffers hideous eye injury at UFC Fight Night 81

Veteran MMA fighter Matt Mitrione was left with an incredibly painful-looking eye injury after his bout at UFC Fight Night 81 in Boston last night.

The 37-year-old took on Travis Browne in the heavyweight clash, but lost the fight on a TKO in the third round.

Defeat is hard enough to accept, but Mitrione was also left nursing as nasty an eye injury as we’ve ever seen.

Browne made contact with Mitrione’s eye socket at the end of the first round and again in the second and the effects are clearly visible on his face.

We can’t even say it probably looks worse than it feels because the fighter said on social media he had suffered a broken orbital floor. Ouch!
