Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira is determined to shake off injury worries to lead his side into action for the fourth time in nine days tomorrow at Newcastle.
Vieira sustained a knock to his knee during yesterday’s incredible second-half comeback at Highbury as Arsenal recovered from a 2-1 deficit to beat Liverpool 4-2.
However, just like hat-trick hero Thierry Henry, who had been doubtful until passing a late fitness test on a back injury, Vieira is still keen to face Newcastle at St James’ Park as well.
He declared: “I got a knock on my knee and have started to feel my hamstring but, when you win, you feel a lot better and I still want to play tomorrow.
“It’s a big game for us and all of us will be ready. A few of us have some knocks but we will battle together to win the trophy.
“It is too big a game to miss. We all want to play as we know it can make the difference for us. We will fight until the end.”
