The Government is expected to hold a briefing in the next half an hour on the details of our €85bn loan package.

Talks on the multi-billion euro emergency funding have concluded in Brussels - finance ministers from across Europe, including Brian Lenihan, attended the special meeting today.

Sixteen Eurozone countries will pay for the loan, while non-euro nations Britain, Sweden and Denmark have offered bi-lateral loans.

The interest rate has not been finalised, but its thought to be in the region of between 5-6%.
