The pro-Agreement parties in Northern Ireland have been unable to reach any significant agreement after sixteen hours of talks over the last two days at Hillsborough.
Ulster Unionists sources are even talking about a suspension of further talks for two weeks, so grassroots soundings can be taken.
The Taoiseach and the British Prime Minister have been holding discussions aimed a brokering a deal that would see the implementation of the Good Friday Agreement, in which case the onus would be on the IRA to deliver.
Republicans say the IRA would have responded positively to any outcome, but the Unionist leader David Trimble says he is willing to make any concessions until he has seen what the IRA is prepared to do in regard to decommissioning .
