Medicom, Ireland’s leading healthcare ICT company and BT Ireland today announced details of a strategic alliance worth €10m.

The partnership, which aims to transform the delivery of ICT services to medical professionals across Ireland, could create savings of more than €10m annually for the Primary Care industry alone.

The Medicom / BT partnership will provide a range of benefits for primary care practices and other medical professionals offering a single source solution for all ICT equipment, reducing costs and administrative overheads as well as easing the growing burden of changing IT infrastructures and most importantly, increasing patient care time.

Under the multi-stranded alliance, Medicom has agreed a sector specific deal which will enable the company to expand its product portfolio to simplify the delivery of IT services.

Currently Ireland’s leading provider of practice management systems to the Irish heathcare sector, Medicom will now offer a host of other complementary services in the form of a SME telephony package which will include BT Broadband, email access and telecoms equipment.

This single service solution model is expected to deliver savings of up to €8000 annually to professionals throughout the healthcare sector.
