Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez will be rested for the Worthington Cup game against Burnley tomorrow with either Ricardo or Roy Carroll between the posts.

Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez will be rested for the Worthington Cup game against Burnley tomorrow with either Ricardo or Roy Carroll between the posts.

Manager Alex Ferguson has a lengthening injury list with defender Gary Neville and midfielder Quinton Fortune both taking knocks in the victory over Liverpool.

Laurent Blanc (calf) and midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron (flu) remain doubtful while David Beckham, Roy Keane, Rio Ferdinand and Nicky Butt are still sidelined.

Promising youngsters Michael Stewart and Kieran Richardson might be given a run-out.

Provisional squad: Ricardo, G Neville, P Neville, Silvestre, Brown, May, O’Shea, Veron, Solskjaer, Fortune, Scholes, Giggs, Forlan, van Nistelrooy, Chadwick, Stewart, Carroll, Richardson.
