Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers go head-to-head at The Showgrounds for a place in the semi-finals of the FAI Ford Cup, kick-off 8pm.

The Hoops will be hoping for a reversal of the result from the last time the sides faced each other in the competition when Sligo beat them in last season’s final.

Dean Kelly (groin) and Ken Oman (knee) remain out injured for the Hoops, while Karl Moore is cup-tied.

There are doubts over Gary Twigg (thigh) and Ronan Finn (groin), while Pat Flynn is suspended.

Rovers manager Michael O’Neill said: “This is yet another big game for us. They are coming thick and fast now. But this is exactly the type of game we need after Thursday and the players are looking forward to it.

“It will be a tough game for both sides and the prize of a place in the semi-final is sure to make it a competitive one.”

Sligo will be without Danny Ventre who is suspended for the clash but otherwise manager Paul Cook has a full squad to choose from.

Cook said: "We’re really looking forward to the game. We’re missing Danny and that is a blow because I think he has been fantastic for us. He has given us a good shape but we will do our best to cope with that through the change we make.

"The two teams had a great tussle 10 days ago and I thought we played superbly. We deserved the win and to beat the better teams in this league you have to play very well.

"That is what we’ll be aiming for again on Monday night. Against Bray we created chances and took them at vital times and I was pleased with that.

"We have set a tone for the rest of the season where we want to win every game and win every competition we compete in. I know what the cup means to the club and we want to do our best to defend it. It is going to be another good occasion for the club and we’ll give it a good rattle."
