Two drown off Clare, Kerry coasts

Gardaí in Co Clare and Co Kerry are investigating two separate drownings that claimed the lives of a 19-year-old Dublin man and a 59-year-old Englishwoman.

Gardaí in Co Clare and Co Kerry are investigating two separate drownings that claimed the lives of a 19-year-old Dublin man and a 59-year-old Englishwoman.

The teenager, who was from Clontarf, drowned in the sea off Co Clare after going for an early-morning swim yesterday.

His body was found on Lahinch beach last night.

The Englishwoman, meanwhile, died after she got into difficulty while diving near Castlegregory with her husband.

Post mortem examinations are due to be carried out on the bodies of both victims today.
