Newcastle United footballer Peter Lovenkrands will wait to hear if he will be banned from driving for speeding after proceedings against him were adjourned today.
The striker was clocked doubling the speed limit when he reached 60mph on a busy stretch near the Magpies’ Little Benton training ground.
Lovenkrands sped along the 30mph Benton Lane in his sporty Audi RS4 when he was caught out by a speed camera in May.
The 30-year-old Danish forward was listed to appear before North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court but the case was adjourned in his absence.
It will now be held on September 8 at 2pm.
He has admitted the offence by letter and must appear before the court to be sentenced.
