Richard Brush made crucial second-half stops as Sligo earned a point in this north-west derby at the Showgrounds.

The result, in truth, does neither side's hopes of progressing to Europe from the league any good.

In a tetchy, and at times ill-tempered game, Brush made good stops from Mark Farren, Peter Hutton, Kevin McHugh and Sean Hargan.

It was far from one-way traffic, though, and Keith Foy brought a good stop out of Derry keeper Patrick Jennings in the first half before shaving the outside of a post with another free three minutes from time.
