Two passenger-trains collided today in northern India, slamming into one another along a stretch of rural track, railway officials told a local television station.

At least 15 people were killed, according to initial reports.

“We are focusing on … rescue at this moment,” Devender Sandhu, a railway spokesman told NDTV television.

Government officials told the TV network that the death toll was at least 15 to 20 people.
