Amann Industries in Co Kerry has confirmed plans to close in the coming year with the loss of 220 jobs.

Amann Industries in Co Kerry has confirmed plans to close in the coming year with the loss of 220 jobs.

The news was communicated to workers at the factory in Tralee during a meeting this lunchtime.

The firm, which announced 120 redundancies in January, says it now plans to close by mid-2010.

It has been operating in Tralee since 1998, making high-quality technical sewing threads for the automotive, fashion and technical industries.
