Government begin discussions with FAI

The FAI have begun their meeting with the Taoiseach.

The FAI have begun their meeting with the Taoiseach.

The meeting centres around the rights of media giant Sky covering Irish international soccer matches.

It is understood that there may be a legal loophole for the Government to work around that will protect terrestrial coverage of the soccer games.

Brendan Menton, on entering the meeting with Mr Ahern and the Attorney General Mr Brady, said that the FAI are always happy to meet the Taoiseach.

However, he made no other comment in relation to discussions with the Government leader.

He said that he will be talking after the meeting in relation to the matter.
