German foreign minister says hostages freed in Yemen

Germany’s foreign minister said today that former deputy foreign minister Juergen Chrobog and his wife and three children, held hostage for a week in Yemen, have been freed.

Germany’s foreign minister said today that former deputy foreign minister Juergen Chrobog and his wife and three children, held hostage for a week in Yemen, have been freed.

“Juergen Chrobog and his family are in safety,” Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier said at a news conference in Berlin. The family was on their way to Aden by helicopter, he said.
