A man has died in a housefire in Letterkenny, Co Donegal.

A man has died in a housefire in Letterkenny, Co Donegal.

The alarm was raised at a cottage in Glenkeogh at around 9.30pm last night.

When emergency services attended the scene they found the remains of a 69-year-old man inside the house.

A local doctor pronounced the man dead and the coroner has been notified.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination, as investigations continue into how the blaze started.
