The Northern Ireland Screen Commission – formerly the Film and Television Commission – has been boosted by a £12m (€17.5m) cash injection from the recently-established Northern Ireland Assembly’s Economy Department.
The movie industry is worth over £16m (€23m) a year to the North and has helped attract such productions as Tom Hanks’s City of Embers, Richard Attenborough’s Closing the Ring and Neil Jordan’s Breakfast on Pluto.
