DART services in Dublin have returned to normal after fallen overhead power lines caused chaos for commuters throughout the city this morning.

30% of DART services were cancelled because the fallen lines at the main depot in Fairview prevented the company from putting many of its carriages into service.

Engineers immediately began work to repair the damage and a full service was restored by 9.30am.

Iarnród Eireann has launched an investigation to establish how the damage was caused.
