Ireland's healthcare spending is one of the lowest in the developed world, according to a new analysis by the OECD.
Ireland is ranked sixth from the bottom of the list of 30 OECD countries, spending just 7.5% of GDP on the health system in 2005.
Elsewhere, Ireland is also in the bottom half of the list when it comes to doctor-to-patient ratios, with 2.8 doctors for every 1,000 people.
