Second thoughts from Big Brother's white witch

It is Day Two in the Big Brother house and already one of the contestants has confessed she is having second thoughts about entering the “more evil than ever” reality show.

It is Day Two in the Big Brother house and already one of the contestants has confessed she is having second thoughts about entering the “more evil than ever” reality show.

During a late night heart-to-heart, white witch Mary O’Leary told promotions worker Saskia Howard-Clarke being in the house was not what she expected.

The daughter of a former priest and former nun, who claims to have been abducted by aliens seven times, Mary told Saskia she did not think she would fit in with the other 12 contestants.

In a visit to the famous Diary Room, the 30-year-old Londoner told Big Brother: “If I could turn back time I wouldn’t be here now.”

But a spokeswoman for the Channel 4 show said Mary has since vowed to give Big Brother a three-day trial before deciding whether to stay.

The spokeswoman said: “It is a very strange environment and it always takes some time for the contestants to fit in but Mary seems to have settled now.”

Seven men and six women entered the claustrophobic, transparent house in Elstree, Herts, last night to compete for fame and £100,000.

Just minutes after they had all entered, Big Brother wasted no time in hatching its first “evil” plot.

Makosi Musambasi, a cardiac nurse from High Wycombe, became the unfortunate victim of Big Brother by entering the Diary Room first.

She was told: “Makosi, you have just made your first mistake by coming to the Diary Room. You are automatically up for eviction.”

Asked: “Why didn’t you tell me this?”, Big Brother said: “Unlucky.”

Makosi was told that the housemate to get the most nominations would be immune from the first eviction on Friday.

Therefore, if she can get the most nominations, she will save herself. The first nominations will take place on Tuesday, with the results announced in a live show on Wednesday.

Bookmaker William Hill already has Roberto Conte, a 32-year-old Italian-born teacher who lives in Liverpool, as 5/1 favourite to win.

Roberto was in the final of the Most Handsome Man in Italy competition but might disappoint female admirers because he is in a relationship.

A former table dancer, a male belly dancer and a well-known Tory are among the other wannabes fighting for the prize.

Overnight viewing figures from the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board showed Big Brother attracted 29% of the TV audience with 5.8 million viewers - 1.5 million down from last year’s first show.

Meanwhile Celebrity Love Island was watched by 11%, a total of 2.2 million viewers.
