New figures show Ireland had a trade surplus of over €4bn in September.
The latest data from the CSO shows an 11% increase in the trade surplus last month, when compared with the same period last year.
The main industries leading exports were medical and pharmaceutical products, organic chemicals and petroleum - all of which saw their export numbers rise.
Exports to the USA were up 8% while Irish products going to France jumped by 12% and to Germany by 5%.
