Bomb making equipment seized in Co Down

Police in the North have seized components for making pipe bombs during a planned search of a house in Downpatrick last night.

Police in the North have seized components for making pipe bombs during a planned search of a house in Downpatrick last night.

The seizures were made during a sweep of a number of properties in the Ballyhorran area.

Forensic investigations are underway on the components and several other undisclosed articles that were seized.

No arrests were made and a police inquiry is continuing.
