Food safety enforcement orders double in August

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued six enforcement orders on food businesses last month for breaches in food safety legislation.

Five closure orders were served: on Willow Tree Chinese Takeaway, Main Street, Moville, Co Donegal; Oscar Taylor Restaurant, Island View Hotel, Coast Road, Malahide, Co Dublin; Macaris Take Away on Main Street, Bray, Co Wicklow; Bombay Spice on the South Circular Road in Dublin and the Arklow Kebab House on the Lower Main Street in Arklow, Co Wicklow.

A Prohibition Order was served on M and B Catering, Clonshaugh Industrial Estate, Dublin 17.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland said it is disappointing that the number of enforcement orders last month doubled since July.
