Mary Robinson to receive honorary degree

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson is to receive an honorary degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology today.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson is to receive an honorary degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology today.

The former Irish President is among three people being conferred with the honour in Dublin this morning.

DIT president Brendan Goldsmith said the degree was in recognition of Mrs Robinson's outstanding contribution to human rights.

Mrs Robinson is also due to deliver a keynote address to the National Women's Council of Ireland annual congress, also being held in Dublin.
