A Government task force is meeting in Dublin today to discuss how Ireland can help tackle world hunger.

The Hunger Task Force was first proposed in 2006 as part of Ireland's efforts to achieve the first Millennium Development Goal of halving poverty and hunger by 2015.

The group will review Ireland's aid programme and suggest ways in which the country can give practical leadership on humanitarian issues.
