A suicide car bomber attacked US troops on patrol in western Iraq, killing four and wounding one, the US military said today.

A suicide car bomber attacked US troops on patrol in western Iraq, killing four and wounding one, the US military said today.

The incident happened yesterday near the town of Qaim in western Anbar province, according to Lt Col Chris Woodbridge, commander of the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment. No other details were given.

Names of the victims involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
