England’s Justin Rose claimed an early one-shot lead in the final round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City, South Africa.
The 27-year-old, who was born in Johannesburg, started level with home favourite Trevor Immelman but immediately seized the advantage and held it after five holes.
Both players began the day on 16 under, but Immelman hit his first drive straight into the spectators and recorded a bogey on the 403-metre, par-four hole, while Rose made a solid par.
The Englishman claimed a birdie on the second to briefly hold a two-shot lead at 17 under, but Immelman nailed a 12-foot birdie putt on the third to reduce the arrears.
Third-placed Ernie Els hit three birdies and bogey in his first seven holes to lie at 13 under, with Australian Geoff Ogilvy a distant fourth, six shots further back.
