Trade union movements will commemorate the 1913 Dublin lock-out today in a re-enactment of the infamous baton charge which took place in the city centre.
20,000 workers were on strike or locked out of their employment in Dublin in 1913, many of them losing their lives in laying the foundation for Ireland’s trade union movement.
Community groups and trade union activists will re-enact the baton charge at 2pm today, with the action beginning on Buckingham Street.
