Foreign worker kidnapped from Nigerian gas plant

Nigerian police said a foreign oil worker was kidnapped by armed men this morning from a Royal Dutch Shell gas plant.

Nigerian police said a foreign oil worker was kidnapped by armed men this morning from a Royal Dutch Shell gas plant.

Hafiz Ringim, police commissioner for Bayelsa state in Nigeria’s southern oil region, said the men arrived at the plant in speedboats and took hostage an expatriate working for Westminster Dredging, a British contractor to Royal Dutch Shell.

He did not provide the worker’s nationality.
