The Carlow County Chairman of the IFA, has said he is withdrawing from the association's Presidential race.

The Carlow County Chairman of the IFA, has said he is withdrawing from the association's Presidential race.

Derek Deane says he thinks issues he has raised with the Chairman of the Rules Committee that should be reviewed before the next Presidential election.

Three candidates are contesting the election, Henry Burns from Laois, Galway's Joe Healy and Flor McCarthy from Kerry.

Mr Deane failed to be nominated to run for IFA President but said he had secured last minute support within the required time frame and had asked to be added to the ticket.
