Webprint and TCH sign printing deal

Thomas Crosbie Holdings Limited (TCH), owners of the Evening Echo, Irish Examiner, Sunday Business Post and 11 other papers here and in the UK, has signed contracts to outsource its printing functions to Webprint Concepts Ltd.

Thomas Crosbie Holdings Limited (TCH), owners of the Evening Echo, Irish Examiner, Sunday Business Post and 11 other papers here and in the UK, has signed contracts to outsource its printing functions to Webprint Concepts Ltd.

Under the deal, all of TCH’s 14 titles, with the exception of The Irish Post, the group’s UK title, will be printed by Webprint in Mahon Point.

TCH has acquired a site in Mahon on which it is currently constructing a specialised building which will be leased to Webprint on a long term basis.

Webprint, established by Donagh O’Doherty, will purchase the printing press and ancillary equipment.

Printing at the new facility will commence in early 2006 with TCH as anchor client. It is anticipated the new company will employ more than 40 staff at start-up.

TCH Group managing director Anthony Dinan told The Evening Echo this was a historic day for TCH.

“I am confident Webprint will deliver the highest quality newspapers, including full colour facilities, on our behalf. This will benefit our growing readership across all titles and provide greater flexibility and options for our advertisers.”

The deal was designed to ensure TCH readers would continue to enjoy the best quality papers in the country.

Mr O’Doherty said they were delighted with the contract to print TCH.

“TCH is major player in Irish publishing. We need to be one of the most efficient plants in the country as the industry is becoming highly competitive with so many new facilities being built. We plan to take on new contracts once the TCH titles are bedded in.”

TCH titles continue to show spectacular performances in all areas they are involved in.
