Romney casts his vote

Mitt Romney has cast his ballot in the presidential election near his home in Massachusetts.

After all the flights, speeches, debates, handshakes, nods, gestures and smiles, it was time for him to vote before curtain-closing campaign rallies in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

His wife Ann was at his side as the pair cast their ballots in Belmont a little before 9am local time.

The Republican presidential candidate will return to Boston tonight for an election day reception at Boston Convention Centre.

Asked who he voted for, Mr Romney replied: “I think you know.”
