IKEA recalls high chair over belt fault

IKEA has issued an appeal to customers who bought one of its high chairs.

The alert relates to the belt on a particular batch of the 'Antilop' chair, which the company has said can open unexpectedly.

There have been eight reports of such incidents, including three in which a child fell from the chair and suffered minor injuries.

Customers are being asked to check the supplier number and production date, on the underside of the seat on the chair.

If the supplier number is 17389 and the production date is between July 2006 and November 2009, people can contact IKEA to get a free replacement belt.

The Customer Service phone number is 1890 876 707.
